The rain started coming down yesterday morning. We got 3 inches of rain in just a few hours. This is our back porch. The crazy thing is that the flood didn't come in from the back porch, it came in the back bedrooms and we didn't even realize it until after the storm. Ugh!
Here are the bedrooms. Mike ripped up the carpet and pulled the padding out all along the walls where the water saturated the carpet. 
This is my "creative room". Now I admit that it wasn't clean to begin with, but we had to pull out everything from the floor and the closet.

Oh, misery! Boy, do we know about floods. A year ago our entire basement was ripped up, walls cut out, carpet gone, furniture on our driveway because the sewage backed up. A few months after getting it all redone, our sprinklers flooded 2 rooms. It was terrible.
Aaaah.......the memories of living in Texas! So sorry the water snuck up on you! Bet the kids had fun though. Good luck and happy drying!
Dang, just now seeing this. Crazy. That same rain brought a lot of wetness up here in Dallas but I'm grateful we didn't flood out. Hope you guys are alright and recovering.
