Hurricane Ike

We headed to Dallas again...to get a way from Ike. We left Wed night and returned the next Tuesday. The storm hit early Sat AM. We lost power for about a day. Much better than most. I know several people who still don't have power.

We played games while we watched the storm on the news
The kids are having a sleep over at the Pauga's house.
Mike and Stephen at the hotel

This was the worst of our damage...half of our tree came down in back. Luckily it landed between the trampoline and the swing set.

Gas was gone in many places, everywhere else was an hour or two wait in line

Lights were out all over the city which makes travel anywhere very slow

Things I took for granted...before

Everyone had to cut up broken tree limbs. Our neighborhood and many others had pile after pile of branches on the curb for disposal.

Mike went with the famous "Mormon helping hands" to aide in recovery efforts.

They went to Bridge City, near the Louisiana border, just off the Gulf Coast.

There was 3 feet of water that covered the city of 4000 homes.
